What do you hope to learn during the Pageant process?

我是一個充滿好奇心的人,我想在這段參選過程中發掘更多有趣的故事,接受專業的舞台及體態培訓,向優秀的前輩和同伴們學習,花時間打磨一個更有魅力的自己,也希望通過這段集體培訓的時光,結交摯友。

As someone who is full of curiosity, I hope to be able to discover interesting stories throughout the Pageant process, receive professional stage and posture training, learn from my outstanding peers, and spend time to polish and present a more attractive self. I also hope to make good friends through this time of collective training.

What is something you want to tell your future self in one year?

With a bamboo stick in your hand and a pair of straw sandals on your feet, you can move forward calmly, better than riding a horse. What's so scary about the road ahead? Wear a quilt and let the wind blow and rain fall and live the life you want to live.

如果由你設計,你想改善多倫多的哪方面?
If you were the leader of Toronto, what is the one thing that you would change to make Toronto a better place?

我會利用VR技術,製作一份屬於多倫多的全景旅行地圖,並且提供多種語種、方式的導覽服務,像是盲文及手語等,讓更多沒有機會探索多倫多,或者因為語言不通而無法更好了解多倫多的人用自己熟悉的方式,足不出戶也能感受這座美麗的城市。

I would utilize VR technology to make a panoramic travel map of Toronto and provide guide services in multiple languages and methods (such as Braille and sign language) so that more people can explore Toronto without any language barriers. People who know Toronto can experience this beautiful city without leaving home in a familiar way.

我認為向日葵的金黃色就像是我的性格一樣,親切、溫暖,富有色彩,所以我覺得自己會變成向日葵。

I would choose sunflowers, as they are alike to my character: kind, warm and colorful.

I would go back to my childhood, to the time when I would make dumplings with my grandmother.

If you could go back in time and make little changes to your childhood, what is one thing you’d learn over the years?

我認為我會學習中文書法。 在這個互聯網時代,越來越多人習慣用電腦打字,而漸漸遺忘漢字的書寫,這是很可惜的事情。我認為寫得一手漂亮的漢字是對中華文化的尊重和傳承,所以我希望去學習,並把這份文化的魅力傳遞給更多的人。

I think I would learn Chinese calligraphy. In this Internet age, more and more people are accustomed to typing with computers, and they gradually forget how to write Chinese characters, which I feel is a pity. I think that beautifully written Chinese characters are a respect for Chinese culture, so I hope to learn and pass the charm of this culture to more people.

There are now 25 hours in a day! How do you spend your extra hour?

我會用來與我的家人、朋友們聯絡。哪怕是閒聊,也希望我們不會被時差與距離所限制,不會錯過彼此每一天的生活。

I would use that extra hour to communicate with my family and friends. Even if it is just small talk, I hope that we will not be limited by time difference and distance and will not miss out on each other's daily life.

I believe that every emotion has its own meaning and place within one’s emotions. But, if I had to choose to eliminate an emotion, I would eliminate disgust. Compared with other emotions, disgust normally arises from not understanding said person or thing. If everyone has more tolerance and patience, with less preconceived "disgust", the world we see will be more beautiful.

How do you cheer yourself up when life gets rocky?

我最常用烹飪來安慰自己,搭配不同食材和調料的過程也是我對內心秩序的梳理,安靜專注地做好一頓飯。肚子吃飽了,心就不慌。

I often use cooking as a way to comfort myself. The process of locating different ingredients and seasonings is also a sort of my inner order and prepare a meal quietly and attentively. When the stomach is full, the heart will not panic.

Podcast - I enjoy listening to podcasts while I do my morning makeup and or before going to bed at night. I also listen to the daily news and the radio before going to bed to keep me refreshed and relaxed. LinkedIn - My favorite social app is LinkedIn. For me, its function is not only limited to job hunting. I prefer to use it to meet outstanding people in the industry, take the initiative to introduce myself on LinkedIn and ask them for advice and learning from their experiences. Apple Music - My favorite music app is Apple Music. With many styles of songs and a rich playlist, it is a must for relaxation. Whether you are exercising or commuting, you can listen away your woes by wearing headphones.
