1. What is your motto?
“There are no failures, only lessons.” This quote always reminds me that life is all about perspective; I choose to look positively and believe that everything in life happens for a reason. Therefore, I should take it as an opportunity to learn and grow from each experience.
2. 最喜歡的造型？/ 平日喜歡哪種穿衣風格？
2. What are your favourite style/ outfit/ look?
I have always liked to dress modestly with basic, simple colors and designs, such as shirts and pants in solid colors with minimalistic patterns. I like to keep my appearance very clean and elegant while being comfortable.
3. What is your definition of the Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant?
MCTP is a platform for young women to be able to express themselves and gain experience that can last a lifetime while representing their Asian heritage. I believe that this pageant will build future leaders and ambitious women. It will also give women the chance to gain a voice and use the title to contribute beneficially to our society.
4. What is the one change that you hope to gain from MCTP?
I hope that I can expand my comfort zone and have more experiences that can help me improve as a person. I hope that when I am finished with this Pageant, I will become more confident in myself and be more courageous to try new things.
5. How would you describe yourself?
I would describe myself as an ambitious and dedicated person. My interests have always been different from my other relatives, so sometimes I feel out of place. However, I do not let this stop me. Instead, I made efforts to gain opportunities and explore different areas of interest. I believe that being different from others pushed me to be extra diligent in my work. When I make a commitment to something, I always intend to make sure I complete it and put in my best effort.
6. What was the craziest or unforgettable thing you have ever experienced?
When I was 14 years old, I was given the opportunity to represent Canada and compete in the 2019 Water Cube Cup International Singing Competition in Beijing. During that time, I needed to travel alone to the airport and be without my family for a whole month. While I missed my parents a lot, the experience I had there was truly unforgettable. I needed to learn how to take care of myself while also taking on the pressures of competing, learning new songs and dances, as well as travelling to new areas.
7. What is the most touching gift you have received?
When I was younger, on my birthday, my older sister handmade me a little booklet with 50 quotes on life, advice, and learning that she wanted me to know and remember. It was decorated with our pictures and she also hand drew little drawings. This is one of the most touching gifts because the things that she wrote really helped me and impacted my life for the better.
8. Anything that you would like to tell yourself the most?
It is okay to not be perfect at everything. The most important thing is that I tried my best and I learned something new out of it. While it is normal to feel sad or discouraged, it should not stop me from continuing to better myself.
9. What are the three things that you desire to have for now？
The first thing is to make sure that my family is in good health, which is the most important thing when it comes to living a good quality of life. The next thing is knowledge, no one can know everything, but a person should have the desire to learn new things in order to upgrade and embrace challenges. The third thing is more confidence, with more confidence, people are more likely to step out of their comfort zone and create more opportunities for themselves even when times are tough.
10. What are the three things that you enjoy the most in life?
The first thing that I love is music. Ever since I was young, I had learnt how to play piano, and sing. I listen to a lot of music because it reflects my mood, whether happy, sad, or relaxed. I also love to exercise. I make sure that every week, I am able to do some cardio or weightlifting so that I keep fit and healthy. The third thing that I enjoy is to spend quality time with my family and friends. They are the most important people in my life and every time we are able to get together, I am always in a good mood.
